Mirka UK will be highlighting abrasive performance and versatility at the Auto Trade EXPO / CV Workshop EXPO on stand J-12, with the debut of its new Galaxy and Iridium SR abrasive ranges along with a selection of innovative electric tools.

The Galaxy abrasive has been developed to sand the various substrates that are prevalent across the automotive sector easily and efficiently. The specially mixed blue ceramic grains found on the abrasive have been engineered to form abrasive edges that break down during the sanding process and present fresh grain.

This, in turn, enables the grains to stay sharp from the first cut to the last, which increases the lifespan of the abrasive and allows it to cut quickly and efficiently from edge to edge.

The Iridium SR abrasive can be used for the finest finishing stages of automotive refinishing and collision repair as well as vehicle manufacturing. The tridimensional technology silicon carbide grains also ensure the abrasive provides a consistent finish and has a long lifespan. In addition, it performs consistently on clearcoat, topcoat and lacquers as well as composite processing.

Supplementing the abrasives on display will be Mirka’s electric tools, spearheaded by the Mirka Deros sander. This tool is the world’s lightest electric sanding machine in its class and its low profile ensures good control over the sanding process. Its ergonomic design ensures it is easy to use and effective for heavy sanding applications.

“In addition, when it is combined with Mirka’s net abrasives and a dust extraction unit, it provides a consistent scratch pattern and a dust-free work environment.

Also on display will be the Mirka Deos, which is the only electric orbital sander on the market that has been optimised for net abrasives by incorporating more than 45 holes in the pad. This enables it to provide users with an excellent scratch pattern and a dust-free work environment.

Steve Smith, national sales manager ART, Mirka UK, says: “We see Ireland as a growing market for our business and Auto Trade Expo is an event we need to be part of because it brings together an engaged audience under one roof.

“We are excited to showcase Galaxy and Iridium SR, which are two of the latest additions to our growing abrasive line-up. In addition, we are looking forward to sitting down with attendees to understand their needs and highlight how our technical team and the plethora of products we have access to can assist them in the short, medium and long term.”

This year’s CV Workshop EXPO takes place from Saturday and Sunday, October 15-16 at the RDS Simmonscourt in Dublin.
